Family Background
Sharon has been married for 47 years to Dick Thomas, who is a writer and also a retired educator. Their son, Severn, is married to Charlene Opheim. Severn earned a master’s degree in Anthropology from NMSU, and has worked at several nonprofit organizations, including the Southwest Environmental Center (SWEC) in Las Cruces. He and his wife currently live in Livingston, MT, where Severn is a Financial Services Representative for a State Farm Insurance Agency. |

Sharon and Dick’s daughter, Caerllion, and her partner, Sasha King, live in Las Cruces. Caeri has worked for Human Systems Resources in Las Cruces (doing GIS mapping). Currently she is a planner with the Metropolitan Planning Organization and recently completed her master’s degree in Geography at NMSU. |
